Afternoon — all it took to make a visible difference

29 students. One goal.

West Bedford students gathered for the community cleanup

Before, during, and after.

Area before cleanup — litter scattered across rocky ground Before

Litter scattered across the rocky area — packaging, cardboard, and waste piled up over time.

Student actively collecting litter during the cleanup During

Students working through the area section by section, filling bags as they went.

Filled bag of collected litter in the cleared area After

One full bag collected from a single section — multiply that across 29 students and you get the full picture.

Around 13 bags of waste removed from West Bedford.

Every single bag represents litter that would have stayed in our community — washing into waterways, piling up in green spaces, and making West Bedford look like nobody cared. 29 students proved otherwise.

All bags of collected waste piled together at the end of the cleanup

This is just the beginning.

One cleanup won't solve everything — but it proves that students in West Bedford care about where they live. We hope this becomes something that continues every year, growing bigger each time.
